Sachsenring is located in the district of Zwikov in the state of Saxony. It is the smallest district in the state, but has a rich history. Including motoring history.
The district is famous for its automotive industry. In the 20th century, Audi, Horch, Auto Union and Trabant cars were produced here. In the town of Zwickau we can even find the Museum of August Horch, the founder of the Audi brand. A number of historic vehicles can be seen in this museum.
Cars are still associated with Zwickau today. In fact, the Volkswagen production plant operates here. However, only electric cars are produced there. In addition to Volkswagen, it also produces cars of two other brands of the concern - Audi and Seat.
