Fly to the German Grand Prix! The three nearest airports to Sachsenring are Dresden, Leipzig and Erfurt. Dresden Airport is 100 kilometres from the circuit, Leipzig Airport is 140 kilometres away, and Erfurt Airport is 150 kilometres away.
You can also use other international airports in the area. For example, Prague International Airport in the Czech Republic is only a two-hour drive away and is well-served. All airports, including those in the nearest neighbouring countries, are part of the Schengen area, where there are no border controls.
There are three ways to get from the airport to the circuit. They are trains, buses, and taxis. For transport, we definitely recommend public transport. German taxis are among the most expensive in Europe. Although the train journey will take around two hours with changes, it will take you all the way to Hohenstein-Ernstthal. From the train station there, it’s just a 15-minute walk to the ring road.
You can see all the public transport connections on the Omio website, where you can also buy a ticket. It is a simple electronic ticket booking system that offers more than 20 languages.
